The other day it was rumored that Apple could be working on a new set of Beats headphones that would essentially be the Beats equivalent to the AirPods. For those who prefer the sound signature of Beats headphones, you might be interested to learn that Apple has since launched the Powerbeats Pro.

These are built off the design of the Powerbeats headphones which are designed as activewear. This clearly shows in the hook-like design in which the headphones will offer a more secure fit for users who are looking to use them at the gym or out on a run and might be worried that they might fall out. To be fair, multiple reviews of the AirPods have suggested that they do not fall out as easily as one might think, but better safe than sorry!

The headphones will each feature volume and track controls, so you can choose to just use one side and still have full control over your audio. They also come with Play/Pause sensors so that it knows when you’ve taken them out of your ears, and as expected, they will also feature the use of Apple’s new H1 chipset with support for “Hey Siri” commands.

The Powerbeats Pro will offer 9 hours of playback time and a charging case that will bring the total number of usage time to over 24 hours. That being said, the headphones do not come cheap at $250 and will be available from Apple’s website this coming May, with more countries getting it in the summer and fall later this year.
