Nintendo has finally confirmed the release date for Super Mario Maker 2. The company has also addressed speculation about the game’s multiplayer functionality through its teaser site for the game. The release date has been confirmed rather quietly by Nintendo but it would most likely be talking about Super Mario Maker 2 at the upcoming E3 2019 gaming convention in June.

Nintendo has confirmed that the highly anticipated Super Mario Maker 2 is going to be released on June 28th. That means this title will be out a couple of weeks after E3 2019. Nintendo was also expected to unveil new Switch hardware at the gaming convention but the company has since confirmed that it has no new hardware to unveil at E3.

The teaser site that it has put up for the game hosts some screenshots and the video that was shown during an earlier Nintendo Direct presentation. It says “TBD” under the “Players” heading and this is only going to add to the speculation that the sequel to Super Mario Maker might finally come with multiplayer support.

Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed or denied that possibility as yet so this is something that fans will definitely wait to find out for sure. Perhaps the company will put the matter to rest once and for all at E3 2019. Meanwhile, mark your calendars for Super Mario Maker 2’s arrival on the Nintendo Switch come June 28th.
