Netflix’s popular dystopian anthology series is coming back next month. The online streaming company today released the first trailer of Black Mirror season 5. The new season has been a long time coming so you can be sure that fans are very excited to see all of the new stories that it will tell.
The new season follows the one-off interactive Black Mirror: Bandersnatch special which was a choose-your-own-adventure show. It was released in December last year. Netflix has since said that it will continue to experiment with the choose-your-own-adventure show genre for other shows as well.
The basic theme of the episodes in the new season of this anthology series will be what fans are quite familiar with. The stories will revolve around technology and how it may influence us in the future. The trailer offers some glimpses of these stories which include what appears to be a public breakdown being live streamed and a young girl receiving encouragement from a social robot to realize her dream of becoming a pop star.
Some fans may not like that Black Mirror season 5 is only going to have three episodes. However, it’s going to have a lot more big stars. This season gets appearances from the likes of Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace, Andrew Scott, Angourie Rice, and even Miley Cyrus. Black Mirror season 5 hits June 5th on Netflix.
