The third installment in the John Wick franchise was released not too long ago and it was a smashing success. The movie managed to knock Avengers: Endgame off the charts and has also managed to gross about $93 million worldwide in revenue. Safe to say, this is one of the more successful franchises we’ve seen in recent times.
So much so that it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that John Wick: Chapter 4 has since been confirmed. The movie is currently scheduled for a release on the 21st of May, 2021 which is two years from now. This is actually quite fast, but presumably, they want to cash in while everyone is still interested.
John Wick’s actor, Keanu Reeves, had previously stated in interviews that he is interested in making more John Wick movies, and said that he would keep making them as long as the fans want them. However, we imagine that just like other franchises that have run on too long for their own good, such as Saw, too many might end up diluting it.
John Wick: Chapter 3 has been hailed by many as being the best in the series to date. The way the movie ended also left it open to future installments. It also featured quite a few notable actors, actresses, and martial artists in the movie, so it will be interesting to see how they will approach Chapter 4.
