Over the years, Blizzard has made various changes and updates to World of Warcraft. These changes are huge and varied, and as such, the game today is very different from the game from back in the day when it first launched. As such, gamers who are looking forward to playing World of Warcraft Classic have been warned that some features of the upcoming game should not be mistaken as bugs.

Blizzard has posted details on the World of Warcraft forums where they have noted some of the game’s features were created intentionally. “As we’ve discussed before, the nature of WoW Classic sometimes invokes different memories for different players, and this leads to certain misconceptions for some about what is or isn’t working as intended.”

We imagine that many players have probably forgotten what the original World of Warcraft felt like, so it could be quite a jarring experience if you’re more familiar with the modern take on World of Warcraft. Some of the differences between WoW Classic and the current version include slower respawn rates for mobs, available quests do not display a “!” on the minimap, quest objects and points of interests aren’t tracked on the minimap, and so on.

As you can tell, these are some of the quality of life improvements that Blizzard has made over the years, which some have argued make the game feel too “easy”. If you’re looking to give yourself a challenge, then maybe WoW Classic could be worth looking forward to when it launches on the 27th of August, 2019.
