The Oculus Quest virtual reality headset will be shipping on May 21st and those who have pre-ordered it will be delighted to know that Google has confirmed it’s bringing YouTube to this headset. The YouTube VR for the Oculus Quest will offer an experience not unlike the one you get with the app on headsets like the Oculus Go and the Samsung Gear VR.

Users will be able to view both conventional 2D videos and 360 degree videos. It normally takes Google a couple of months to release YouTube VR for a new headset so it’s certainly interesting to note that this is the first time that YouTube VR is going to be available for a new headset the moment it starts shipping.

A couple of other popular VR apps will be available for the headset as well when it hits the shelves on May 21st. They include the painting tool Tilt Brush and the Job Simulator game. Vacation Simulator, the sequel to that game, is also due to launch on the latest Oculus headset in the coming months.

The Oculus Quest is the standalone headset from the company that has long been awaited. It doesn’t need an external computer or sensors to power the VR experience. It’s priced at $399.
