The only way you could buy a used Tesla Model 3 before today was to either find an individual who was looking to part with their car or go to a reseller. Tesla wasn’t selling used Model 3 cars online, until now. The company has started selling used units of its entry-level electric vehicle through its website so finding one is now easier than ever before. However, there’s a caveat.

The used Model 3 cars can only be purchased from Tesla online in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are some good deals to be had, for example, a 2017 Long Range model can be had for just over $40,000. That’s about the same amount of money that you’d pay for a new Standard Range Plus version of the Model 3.

All used vehicles from Tesla go through a 70 point inspection and get either a four year, 50,000 mile warranty or a two year, 100,000 mile warranty. This should give ample peace of mind to customers who are in the market for a used Tesla and would much rather purchase one from the company itself.

The used car program has been available through Tesla for a few years now. The company has already been selling used units of its Model S sedan and the Model X crossover. 2017 and 2018 models of the Model 3 are now available from its website.
