Several years ago, Ubisoft confirmed that they would be making a movie based on their video game “The Division”. It has been about three years since the announcement was made, and for those wondering about the state of the movie, you’ll be pleased to learn that at E3 2019, it has been revealed that Netflix will be picking it up.

This means that if you own a subscription to Netflix, you will be able to watch it when it has been released. At the moment, there is still no date on when the movie will be released, so we could still be in for a wait, but at the very least we know where it will be available on once it has been released.

According to the synopsis of the movie, “In the near future, a pandemic virus is spread via paper money on Black Friday, decimating the city of New York and killing millions. By Christmas, what’s left of society has descended into chaos. A group of civilians, trained to operate in catastrophic times, are activated in an attempt to save who and what remains.”

The movie is expected to star Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain. It is also directed by Deadpool 2’s David Leitch. Whether or not the movie will be good remains to be seen as there is still quite a bit of stigma surrounding video games that have been adapted to movies.
