Bluetooth speakers are a dime a dozen, but if you are looking for a set of speakers that you can take with you to the beach or to the pool without worrying that a bit of water won’t damage them, then Ultimate Ears might be of interest to you because the company has announced their latest set of Bluetooth speakers.

These speakers come in the form of the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2. They are the successor to the Wonderboom that was released about two years ago. Now, while the speakers themselves might look similar in terms of design, note that they are anything but. Under the hood, Ultimate Ears has made quite a few changes to them.

This includes improved battery life where the speakers now claim to offer up to 13 hours of playback versus the 10 hours offered before. They have also improved on the stereo pairing of the speakers, where combining a pair of Wonderboom 2 speakers will offer up a “true” stereo experience, instead of merely doubling the output.

There is also a new Outdoor Boost mode which comes in the form of a button on the bottom of the speaker. When pressed, it will help boost the audio coming from the speakers which might be necessary if you’re outdoors and need that extra oomph. The speakers are priced at $99.99 and are expected to be available for purchase towards the end of the month.
