Apple’s plans for their own electric/self-driving is an open secret, although it was earlier this year that it was suggested that the company’s car project could be scrapped. Whether or not they have is unclear as Apple has yet to confirm or deny anything, but it seems that things could be progressing as intended.

This is because according to a report from Bloomberg, it appears that Apple has hired yet another engineer for their car project. This engineer in question, Steve MacManus, seems to have been poached from Tesla (it would not be their first time). MacManus has an extensive background in the automotive industry, having previously worked at Jaguar, Bentley, and Aston Martin.

His role at Tesla was also that of being in charge of engineering for car exteriors and interiors, although it is unclear if he will be using those skills while at Apple. It is an interesting move by Apple, especially since it is anyone’s guess as to what Apple has planned. At one point in time, it was suggested that Apple was working on their own car, but later it was suggested that the company could be working on the tech that could be licensed out.

Just last month, Apple confirmed that they their acquisition of a self-driving car startup, and it was also reported that at some point in time, Apple had made a “serious bid” on Tesla.
