Apple is reportedly going to launch a new budget iPad this year, budget in the sense that it would be slightly more affordable than the premium options in its tablet lineup. This new 10.2 inch iPad is expected to be released by the third quarter of this year. It should replace the existing 9.7 inch iPad in the company’s tablet lineup.

No further information is available about this tablet right now. The third quarter launch timeframe suggests that it could be out by September which would be around the same time that the company conducts its annual launch event for new iPhones.

However, Apple has traditionally released new iPads in October, with the less premium models being updated at different times. For example, the 2019 iPad Air and iPad mini were launched back in March. There have been a few reports about a new iPad with a 10.2 inch display so far but nothing concrete has turned up.

It’s believed that the overall size of the tablet will remain the same with Apple increasing the display size by just reducing the bezels. Apple has obviously not said anything itself about a new tablet so far and won’t do so until the day it’s ready to announce the tablet’s launch. Whether or not that’s going to happen remains to be seen.
