If you’re in the market for a new action camera, then you might be interested to learn that the folks at GoPro could actually have a new camera in the works. This is according to a report from Photo Rumors who claims that the GoPro Hero 8 camera is in development and that it could actually be announced as early as next month.

The report claims that the GoPro Hero 8 will come with a new design and will also come with new housing and accessory options, meaning that users who wish to upgrade their GoPro can do so by opting to use things like a microphone, LED light, an extra external display, and so on. It will also feature the use of the GP2 chip and will also be capable of recording 4K video at 120 fps.

It will also be capable of shooting Full HD video at 480 fps, if you were to ever need those kind of frame rates. There is also mention of improvements being made to the lens and overall image quality, but we’ll have to take that at face value since we haven’t seen any sample photos or videos yet, but it should still be somewhat good news for those who are thinking about getting the camera.

Take it with a grain of salt, but if the September rumors are true, we should have more details in the coming weeks.
