Earlier this year, renowned motorbike company Harley-Davidson announced their plans to launch the company’s first electric bike. Dubbed the LiveWire, this is the company’s first all-electric motorbike and it does not come cheap at a starting price of $30,000. However, if you’re looking for something cheaper, the company could be more than happy to oblige.

According to a report from Electrek, it seems that Harley-Davidson could be looking to explore the idea of an electric bicycle. Yup, you heard that right, a bicycle. Now, the concept of electric bicycles or motor-assisted bicycles aren’t new, so we’re not sure how different the company’s offering could be from the competition.

It could simply be that they are banking on their branding to sell these electric bicycles, but according to the company’s announcement at their Annual Dealer’s meeting, “Harley-Davidson’s first electric pedal-assist bicycles are light, fast, and easy for anyone to ride. Designed to shine in urban environments, this all-new line of eBicycles is just one more example of how Harley-Davidson’s More Roads initiative is actively working to inspire a new generation of two-wheeled riders around the world.”

There is no word on when these bikes are expected to arrive or how much they could cost, but given the company’s branding and reputation, we imagine that they probably won’t be cheap as far as electric bicycles are concerned, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
