According to Apple, one of the company’s most popular iPads is the 9.7-inch model. It’s actually not that surprising when you consider that Apple had previously launched an updated 9.7-inch model that was considerably cheaper and acted as an entry-level device for those looking to dip their toes in the iPad waters.

However, it seems that Apple has decided to update its 9.7-inch iPad where they have given it an upgrade. Instead of the 9.7-inch display, Apple has upgraded it where it will come sport a 10.2-inch Retina display. In terms of specs, if you’re looking for a powerhouse, note that it will not be as powerful as the iPad Pro.

This is because Apple will be giving this iPad the A10 Fusion chipset which was originally launched in 2016 on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. However, it should still be powerful enough for you to get the job done, but it’s something to take note of. It will also come with the Smart Connector feature which means that it will be usable with the Smart Keyboard accessory.

It will also run on iPadOS which is a forked version of iOS optimized for the iPad. There is also support for the Apple Pencil and as Apple had announced, customers who purchase new Apple hardware will be given a year’s subscription to the Apple TV+ streaming service for free. The new seventh-gen iPad will be priced starting at $329 and is available for pre-order where it is expected to begin shipping towards the end of the month.
