Back towards the end of August, Capcom teased an upcoming game called Project Resistance which seemed to be some kind of Resident Evil spin-off. A recently-released trailer revealed some additional details about the game, and now it looks like the game has been officially announced.
As expected, this is a spin-off from the Resident Evil franchise where it seems to be focusing on co-op gameplay. It will put four players together who will need to escape a player-controlled “Mastermind”. If this sounds familiar, it is because it reminds us of Evolve, a game developed by Turtle Rock Studios which also featured a similar setup, although in this case, it seems to be set in the Resident Evil universe.
Players will need to escape the area while fighting against the Mastermind, who in turn will be able to lock doors, place creatures inside the area, shoot at them, or attack them by controlling zombies. In a way, this feels a lot like if Evolve met Dungeon Keeper, which is not a bad thing and sounds pretty fun.
The game isn’t available just yet but players who are interested can actually sign up to take part in a closed beta, which kicks off on the 4th of October. However, it will require that gamers be either part of the Resident Evil Ambassador program for the PS4 or the Xbox Insider Program.
