2019 might not seem like the best year for Huawei, what with the company facing resistance from several governments around the world in adopting their 5G equipment and technology. They are also collateral damage in the trade war between the US and China, which has resulted in them not being able to do business with US companies.

However, it seems that despite all these setbacks, Huawei seems to be actually having a pretty good year. The company has recently announced that they have managed to not only ship 200 million smartphones for the year of 2019, but they have done it in record time where they achieved that milestone 64 days earlier than the previous year.

That being said, we have to wonder how the company will fare in 2020 and if they will still be able to achieve these impressive figures. This is because starting with the Huawei Mate 30, Huawei’s future phones will not be shipped with Google Play Services preinstalled on them due to the ongoing ban.

This will no doubt cripple the phone to a certain degree as consumers might think twice about buying a Huawei phone as Google’s services are rather integral to the overall Android experience. Huawei does have its own operating system in the works, but given how mature the market is, we’re not sure if there is really a place for another smartphone OS, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
