Apple just announced its brand new 16-inch MacBook Pro where based on its specs and features, this is a laptop that Apple is trying to make appealing to professionals who might need high-end hardware while on the go. Some of these “pro” features include support for up to 64GB of RAM and also up to 8TB of SSD.

Yup, you read that right, SSD, not HDD, and if you’re starting to sweat thinking how expensive this laptop could cost you, we did the math for you and it seems that a fully-specced out 16-inch MacBook Pro with all the bells and whistles will set you back a cool $6,099, making it slightly more expensive than the base Mac Pro which is set to ship this December.

So, what will you get for $6,000? Based on the configuration on Apple’s website, the processor has been upgraded to a 9th gen Intel 8-core Core i9 processor clocked at 2.4GHz, but can be turbo boosted up to 5.0GHz. RAM has also been bumped up from 16GB to 64GB 2666Hz DDR4 RAM.

The GPU has also been upgraded to an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and the biggest chunk of change goes to the storage, where going from 1TB of SSD storage to 8TB will cost you can extra $2,200. We’re not sure who might spend so much for a laptop, but at least the option is there for those who can justify it.
