When it comes to music streaming services, there are many to choose from, and it looks like we could be getting yet another option. According to a report from the Financial Times (paywall), it seems that TikTok’s parent company ByteDance could be planning on entering the on-demand music streaming service.

However, instead of being a pure music streaming service, it will come with interactive features where it will include a collection of short video clips that will let users sync music to, meaning that you could create short custom music videos that you can then share with your friends and family members.

It is also reported that this service could also be priced under $10, making it a cheaper and more compelling alternative to the likes of Spotify and Apple Music. The company is said to be in talks with the various music labels to work out some kind of licensing deal, and that it could even launch as soon as December.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but given that TikTok is a music-based app, it’s not surprising that ByteDance is looking to expand on that. Whether or not it will have some kind of tie-in with TikTok or if it will be a completely separate product remains to be seen.
