So we know that Microsoft is working on their next-gen Xbox console which is also known internally as Project Scarlett. If you’re wondering what the actual console will be called, you’re in luck because Microsoft has recently officially announced their next-gen Xbox console, which the company is calling the Xbox Series X.

According to Microsoft, “Xbox Series X will be our fastest, most powerful console ever and set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility, allowing you to bring your gaming legacy, thousands of games from three generations and more forward with you.” The company is also boasting that it will be four times as powerful compared to the Xbox One X, and are also claiming how the console has been designed to support both horizontal and vertical orientations.

In addition to the new console, Microsoft has also announced a new Xbox Wireless Controller whose size and shape have been created with a wider range of gamers in mind. The new controller will also come with features like a new Share button and also a d-pad derived from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller. Microsoft also notes that the controller will be compatible with the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

There was no mention of pricing or availability, but the company is expected to share more details in 2020.
