Bob, World’s Smallest, Lightest & Fastest Dishwasher Made of Recyclable Materials

Daan Tech is back at CES with Bob, a tiny eco-friendly dishwasher targeted at people living in small apartments, in RVs or using boats where space is scarce, and water needs to be saved.
According to Damian Py, President and CEO, Daan Tech, Bob is the “world’s smallest, lightest & fastest dishwasher entirely made of recyclable materials”.

The 2 place setting dishwasher fits on the side of a sink, cleans and dries dishes with low energy and low water consumption using a technology inspired by professional dishwashers. According to the company, Bob uses five times less water than manual cleaning and thanks to its built-in 3L water tank does not need to be connected to a water line.

What sets Bob apart from the competition are its lightweight, its speed and the fact that it does not require connection to water supply systems. At 22lbs (10kgs) and with only 20 minutes to complete a wash cycle, Bob aims at saving water while washing dishes efficiently in small spaces. In the U.S., Tetra is the main competitor of Bob, featuring a smaller water tank of 2L, however, pre-orders will only start in 2020 for a similar price of $299.

Bob features a 2.2” LCD display and 3 physical buttons where users can select the washing mode, custom modes can be defined over WiFi connectivity. The automatic magnetic door is a unique feature that improves the drying process, according to the company. Inside, an LED backlight allows users to see better the clean dishware. The maximum items that bob can handle in one cycle is: 6 plates, 4 glasses, 4 cups 2 bowls, and 6 silverware – or 16 glasses.

Bob is available for 299 euros for pre-order in 12 colors for the front door and 2 colors (black or white) for the chassis.

Daan Tech showcased Bob last year at CES 2019, and the company is still in the pre-order and manufacturing phase, counting now 6000+ customers and 4M euros raised. Shipping to customers is expected to start in late summer 2020 in Europe, availability in the USA will start in Q1 2021. If you are at CES, come and check Bob at The French Tech / Business France pavilion at the Sands Hall G booth #50819.
