The problem with computers that are used in the classroom is that students sometimes don’t treat them with the care they would if it were their own computer. This means that computers designed to be used by multiple users should be created to be durable, and that’s exactly what HP has done.
The company has recently taken the wraps off a bunch of new Chromebooks that they have designed specifically for the classroom. These Chromebooks come in the form of the Chromebook 11 G8 EE, 11A G8 EE, x360 11 G3 EE, and 14 G6, where one of the main features of the laptops are its anchored keys.
What this means is that the keys are anchored more securely to the laptop that will make it harder for students to pry it off out of curiosity or simply boredom. It has also been designed to be spill resistant, so a bit of water here and there should not ruin the keyboard. HP has also built the Chromebooks with military-grade drop resistance in mind, so it should be more than capable of withstanding a couple of knocks and rops.
All the models will be powered by Intel’s 1.1GHz Celeron processors and will come with 8GB of RAM at at least 16GB of storage. The Chromebooks are also very affordable where the base model is priced starting at $259 and will go up to $299 for the higher-end models.
