If there is a reason why the majority of gaming rigs tend to be pretty huge, it is because of the desire to create a PC with amazing airflow and also the ability to fit full-sized GPUs. However, if you’re not a fan of those bulky rigs and want a smaller and more minimalist rig, then usually compromises have to be made, especially in the GPU department.

The good news is that if you want to have the best of both worlds, Intel has taken the wraps off its Ghost Canyon NUC (also known as the Intel NUC 9 Extreme). While NUCs aren’t new, what makes the Ghost Canyon NUC so special is that it is essentially an upgradeable NUC, where it seems that users can not only upgrade the processor when they want to, but it will also be big enough to fit a desktop-sized GPU in it.

This means that in terms of power, it should be essentially almost on par with a regular desktop build, with the main difference and probably one of its selling points is that you could pack this into a bag and take with you on the go (although you will still need external peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, and monitor).

If this sounds like something you might be interested in getting, Intel is expected to begin selling the computer this coming March where the barebones system will be priced starting at $1,250, and will go up to $1,700 for the flagship Core i9 model.
