Back in November last year, Motorola announced their own foldable phone in the form of the Motorola Razr, a revival of the classic and iconic design, except with a modern twist where on the inside it featured a flexible display. The handset was originally supposed to launch after Christmas, but the company delayed the release.

According to Motorola, this was due to “unparalleled excitement” for the phone, but if you have been eyeing the phone, you will be pleased to learn that Motorola and Verizon have since announced that the Razr will be officially launching on the 6th of February, 2020. Pre-orders are also expected to kick off on the 26th of January, so keep an eye out for that if you want to get your hands on the phone.

We were initially worried that the delay would be too long, similar to what Samsung had done with its Galaxy Fold, but it seems that the turnaround was much shorter than we expected, and we suppose that’s good news. The phone will be priced at $1,499 making it a tad more affordable compared to the Galaxy Fold, but it is definitely not a cheap device.

In the meantime, Samsung has also been rumored to be launching a similarly designed handset known as the Samsung Galaxy Flip Z, but nothing has been officially announced yet, so for now Motorola will be beating them to the market.
