Our computers might be protected by passwords, but the problem is that our external drives might not come with the same level of protection. This means that anyone who steals your external drive might be able to access its contents, and this is something that Samsung wants to address.

The company has recently announced their latest portable SSD in the form of the Samsung T7 Touch. What makes this particular SSD pretty unique is the fact that it comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor. This means that with the fingerprint sensor, accessing the contents on the drive can only be done once the user has been authenticated through their fingerprint.

In addition to the fingerprint sensor, Samsung is also claiming that the T7 Touch offers password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption, making it one of the more secure external drives available in the market today for consumers. Other features of the drive include a read speed of up to 1,050MB/s and a write speed of up to 1,000MB/s.

The drive will also be available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options and will be priced at $129.99, $229.99, and $399.99 respectively, and will be available for purchase this month.
