These days, it’s not uncommon to see that when developers create apps for the iPhone, they also create one for the iPad, unless there is a very specific reason why the app might not necessarily be suited for the tablet. However, for years, many have been scratching their heads as to why Instagram is still not available for the iPad, at least natively.

According to a tweet by The Verge’s Chris Welch, it seems that Instagram’s CEO has explained why there is still no iPad app just yet. According to the CEO, apparently it seems that the company is simply too busy with other projects that they have not had the time to put together an iPad app yet.

He was quoted as saying that Instagram “would like to build an iPad app.” However, he added that, “But we only have so many people, and lots to do, and it hasn’t bubbled up as the next best thing to do yet.” Based on the comments, it seems that not many people are buying into that statement.

However, if anything, it doesn’t sound like Instagram will be developing its iPad app just yet, so if you were hoping that 2020 would be different, you might be disappointed. In the meantime, we guess you’ll have to keep using your phone if you want to browse Instagram on a mobile device.
