Want to check out what Netflix has to offer before you decide to commit yourself to a subscription? If you are, you’ll be pleased to learn that Netflix seems to be testing out a new feature in which they are offering anyone free access to several of its original series, and you don’t even need an account to watch it.

In a statement Netflix made to Gadgets 360, the company said, “We’re looking at different marketing promotions to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience.” Of course, Netflix isn’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and it should be noted that there will be a 30-seconds skippable ad between every title, so it seems that Netflix will kind of be making some money back from this.

Also, it won’t be compatible across every platform. Right now, the free access to shows will only be available on Windows PCs or Mac computers along with Android. If you’re watching on an iOS device, a smart TV, or Amazon’s Fire Stick, then you’ll be out of luck. This is but a small glimpse of Netflix’s catalogue, and presumably the company is hoping it will be enough to convince users to sign up for a full subscription.
