If the rumors are to be believed, Apple is expected to launch as many as four new iPhones this coming October. Given that they will all fall under the iPhone 12 lineup, this could get rather confusing in terms of naming, but now we know how Apple might end up naming some of their devices.

According to a tweet by @L0vetodream, apparently the base iPhone 12 model could actually be called the iPhone 12 mini. Apple has used the “mini” moniker in the past for devices like the iPad and also the Mac Mini, so we guess this naming scheme doesn’t really come as that big of a surprise.

For those hearing about this for the first time, Apple will have as many as four iPhones launching at their iPhone event in October. The base model is rumored to come with a 5.4-inch display, making it one of the smaller iPhones that Apple has launched in a while. Then there will also be the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, both of which are rumored to sport 6.1-inch displays, and last but not least there will also be a top-of-the-line model in the iPhone 12 Pro Max that could come with the biggest screen ever for an iPhone at 6.7-inches.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but given that we’re approaching October, hopefully Apple will have an official invite that they will be sending out soon.
