Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is off to a good start, at least as far as demand is concerned. If all the reviews have gotten you convinced and you want to get your hands on the console, you might want to move quick. This is because Microsoft expects that the console will face shortages at least until April 2021.

Speaking at the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Virtual Conference, Microsoft’s CFO Tim Stuart was quoted as saying that the company expects to face shortages for the Xbox Series X console through the first quarter of 2021, which mean that if their predictions are right, gamers could have a tough time getting their hands on the console until April.

This shouldn’t really be too surprising given that the Xbox Series X is a major launch for Microsoft, and with the legion of Xbox fans out there, many are quickly snapping up the console as soon as it becomes available. Sony also appears to be facing similar issues, to the point where scalpers are selling brand new PS5 units on eBay for as much as $2,000.

We can only assume that the Xbox Series X will be given the same treatment, so we can only suggest that maybe you don’t pay these scalpers for insanely jacked up prices, and just remain patient and keep an eye out for availability whenever that comes around.
