When Apple was first rumored to launch a smartwatch, many had expected the company to go with a more traditional watch design with a circular face, but instead the company opted for a square face with rounded edges and corners. On hindsight, it made sense as this followed the design language of the company’s iPhones at that time.

However, with the iPhone 12 and its flat sides, could Apple redesign the Apple Watch to make it look similar? While the jury is still out on that one, designer Wilson has shared some concept images on Twitter to show what an Apple Watch with flat edges could look like, and boy, we have to say that we’re digging it!

The flat sides give the Apple Watch a more boxy look, but it also looks pretty good. Watches with square designs and flat edges aren’t new, and companies like Bell & Ross are known for similar designs, so we can get on board with this. Of course, whether or not future Apple Watches could look like this remains to be seen.

The good news though is that a recent rumor has claimed that Apple will apparently be introducing a new design for the Apple Watch in 2021, so that’s something to look forward to as the company hasn’t used a new design for a few years now.
