In the coming months, there is a very good chance that Apple will finally announce the much-rumored AirTags accessory. Now, we have been hearing about the accessory for a while, we’ve also seen evidence, although we suppose it’s always good to remain a bit skeptical until we get the official confirmation.

However, it turns out that Apple could have been hiding the AirTags in plain sight all along. A report from MacRumors cites a reader, David Chu, who pointed out that iPhone, iPad, and Mac users who use Safari can type “findmy://items” in the URL bar and it will bring up a prompt that will take users to a hidden tab in the Find My app.

In the app itself, it shows a caption that says, “Keep track of your everyday items”, which almost certainly points to the AirTags and their intended function. This seems to have been included in the latest version of iOS 14 and macOS 11, so if you’ve already updated then you should be able to pull this up for yourself.

All of this points to Apple laying the groundwork for the launch of the accessory, which at this point still remains a bit of a mystery. The rumors are claiming that it will differentiate itself from other trackers by using UWB, which is supposed to be more precise compared to regular Bluetooth trackers, but beyond that, not much else is known, but hopefully we’ll have the details soon.
