When it comes to keyboards, a lot of us are probably familiar with full-sized layouts where it comes with the function row and a numpad. However, not everyone needs a numpad. In fact, for some, numpads actually get in the way when they try to use their mouse, thus forcing users to spread their arms out wider which can get uncomfortable.

However, it seems that ASUS might have a solution for gamers in the form of the ASUS ROG Claymore II. This is a mechanical keyboard that comes with a detachable numpad. This means that in the event you don’t need the numpad, you can easily remove it. It can also be rearranged where you can move it from the right  side, where it’s typically placed, to the left side, which might be better for some users.

According to ASUS, the keyboard will use ROG RX Blue Optical Mechanical Switches, which the company claims are good for 100 million keypresses, wobble-free keystrokes, and fast response times as keys will be triggered the moment they are pressed. The keyboard is also wireless that uses a 2.4GHz RF connection, but there will also be an option to use it wired.

The keyboard has a 4,000mAh battery that will last as long as 40 hours on a single charge. There is no word on pricing just yet, but it will be available in the second quarter of the year.
