A new Battlefield game from EA is expected to be released later this year. Not much is known about the game at the moment, but thanks to a video by Tom Henderson, also known as LongSensation who has leaked Call of Duty and Battlefield game details in the past, we might have an idea of what to expect.

According to Henderson’s latest video, Battlefield 6 is expected to have matches where up to 128 players will be playing against each other at once. This is a step up on the previous titles where it was capped at 64 players, and also seems to tie-in with EA’s comments that the game will have a “never before seen scale”.

The video report also claims that DICE has been exploring a new battle royale mode for Battlefield 6, which makes sense since battle royale games are still very much in season these days, although hopefully it will fare better than Firestorm in Battlefield V. It would also seem that the game could be released on both current-gen and prev-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.

However, for prev-gen consoles, the game will have some limitations (presumably due to hardware) where the graphics will be downgraded and matches continuing to be capped at 64 players instead of 128 players. Take this with a grain of salt, but hopefully we’ll have some official details from EA or DICE in the near future.
