Apple’s Pro Display XDR costs a small fortune, but then again, it is targeted more towards professionals who might be able to appreciate such features, as opposed to regular consumers looking for a new monitor. However, if you want to complete your Apple setup, there might be some good news on that front.

Based on a report from Bloomberg, they have learnt that there is a chance that Apple could actually be developing a cheaper monitor for customers. This monitor would be more of a true successor to Apple’s Thunderbolt display that the company discontinued back in 2016, which means that in terms of price, it might hover around the $1,000 mark, or at least that’s what we’re hoping.

The report says that this will be more geared towards regular consumers than professionals, and that its brightness and contrast ratio will be different from the Pro Display XDR. This isn’t to say that it will be a bad or dull-looking monitor, but rather it will come across more as a regular monitor that you might see other manufacturers selling, as opposed to one specialized for video or photo editing, rendering, and so on.

The bad news though, is that the report claims that this monitor is only in “early development”, which means that there is a good chance it might not make an appearance this year, so we’ll just have to remain patient for now.
