One of the features of Cyberpunk 2077 is the ability to support mods. Games with mod support aren’t new, but they’re a welcome feature as it means that gamers get to experience the game in other ways not necessarily intended by the developer, which can make things fun and exciting.

For example, Skyrim had mods that improved the textures massively, turning it into a next-gen sort of game. However, it seems that it’s not all fun and games because according to a report from Forbes, they spotted a post on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit in which it appears that there might be some malicious mods lurking about that would run code that would allow hackers to take over your PC.

The report claims that the developers of the game, CD Projekt, have been notified about the vulnerability. However, the recent 1.11 hotfix did not seem to address the issue, which means that gamers will have to wait until the next patch in which hopefully a fix will be part of it. The good news is though, that you can actually do something about it yourself.

All gamers need to do is update the Cyber Engine Tweaks to the latest version and it should apparently deal with the issue. That being said, it doesn’t mean that CD Projekt is off the hook because we imagine that there are probably going to be gamers who might not know about this workaround.
