A couple of years ago, the original creators of the Diablo game believed that Blizzard would not be making a Diablo 2 remake/remaster. This is because they claimed that a lot of the original assets were lost, which meant that Blizzard would essentially need to build a lot of things from scratch.

However, a recent rumor suggested that such a game would be coming, and it looks like the rumors were right on the money. During BlizzConline, the company officially announced Diablo II: Resurrection. This is basically a remaster of the Diablo 2 game that was originally released back in 2000, about 21 years ago.

As you can see in the video above, the graphics have been improved rather significantly where it looks like a much more modern game, almost like its successor, Diablo 3. It also seems that Blizzard might have upped the framerates as it does look really smooth in the gameplay video, which is a good thing.

This version of Diablo 2 will be launched across multiple platforms such as the PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Series X, and will also have its progression shared across platforms. It will also include the Lord of Terror expansion. There is no set release date yet, but it is expected to be made available later this year.
