When it comes to headphones, Microsoft might seem like an odd brand to think about, but over the years, the company has launched several audio products such as headphones and wireless earbuds. Now it looks like they’re back with a new pair of headphones, except that these have been designed for gaming in mind.

Dubbed the Xbox Wireless Headset, these are a pair of headphones designed for gamers. It looks rather simple but don’t let the simplicity fool you. According to Microsoft, the headset has been designed to leverage the Xbox Wireless protocol which means that they aren’t just a regular pair of Bluetooth headphones.

It will support spatial audio technologies such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X, helping provide gamers with audio cues and sounds that will help them during their gaming, like being able to hear enemy footsteps from around the corner and the direction they’re coming from.

The headset will also feature a beamforming microphone that will help improve on voice communications, such as providing better quality voice isolation so that unnecessary background noise isn’t picked up. Microsoft will be launching the Xbox Wireless Headset on the 16th of March where it will be priced at a somewhat reasonable $99, although they are accepting pre-orders at the moment.
