It is no secret that Apple is working on a mixed reality headset and that the company could launch the device ahead of their augmented reality glasses. In fact, it could be very soon, at least according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who claims that Apple will launch the device in the coming months.

While we have heard for years that Apple could be planning a headset/smart glasses of sorts, it has always felt like something of a pipe dream, but the recent report claims that it could be launching soon. As to when exactly this might take place, Apple did confirm that they will be hosting a virtual WWDC event in June, so if anything, it could be announced then.

Apple’s WWDC is typically software focused and less on hardware, although last year’s event saw Apple confirm their plans to launch their own ARM-based chipsets for Mac computers, so it’s not a stretch to think that this year could follow in a similar vein. Plus, it could also be just an announcement and not necessarily a release, so Apple might use the event just to unveil their plans for the future.

Either way, if you are excited at Apple announcing a potentially new product, do check back with us in the coming months for more details, but in the meantime until it is official, don’t get your hopes up just yet.
