Many probably know Google Photos as a photo backup service. However, the app on mobile does come with some pretty basic photo editing features if you need to make quick edits, crop images, and so on. However, if you wanted more powerful controls, especially for video, you might opt to use a different software.

However, for those who are fans of Google Photos, you’ll be pleased to learn that Google has started to push out an update that will see Google introduce a new video editor that will make it easier for users to edit their videos using the mobile app. The video editor comes with a ton of features that you might expect from a photo editor, except for videos.

This includes the ability to crop, change perspectives, granular edits, adding filters, adjusting things like the brightness, contrast, saturation, as well as adding vignetting, controlling shadows, and more. While this hardly puts the app on par with more professional video editors on your phone or computer, it should be good enough for those who are seeking to make quick edits without too steep of a learning curve, not to mention it is also free so if you don’t use these types of apps often, this could be a more cost-effective solution.
