A couple of years ago, LG unveiled their rollable OLED TV at CES 2019. It is an interesting and amazing piece of technology and if you fancy yourself an early adopter, then you might be excited to learn that the TV seems to have made its way stateside where you will be able to purchase it.

This was initially discovered by HD Guru who spotted a link to “Inquire to Buy” on LG’s website, where clicking it will provide users with contact information of a local sales representative. There is no mention of how much the LG OLED R will cost, but last we heard was when it went on sale in South Korea, it was priced at 100 million KRW, which after conversion is roughly around the $90,000 range.

Basically it will not come cheap and will probably only appeal to those with deep pockets. We imagine that LG probably does not expect the OLED R to become a mainstream product, but rather a showcase of their technology for future TVs to come. What’s interesting about this is that LG was supposed to take its rollable OLED technology and apply it to future smartphones.

The company had teased earlier this year that they would be launching such a smartphone, but now that they are exiting the smartphone business, it looks like that will no longer be happening.
