iMessage is one of the few exclusive features of Apple’s products. For a while, that was the case with FaceTime but that will kind of be changing soon. That being said, during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella said that he would welcome iMessage onto Windows.

As you might have heard, the upcoming Windows 11 update will allow Windows users to run Android apps, so there was discussion during the interview about the possibility of Apple bringing their own apps to Windows, to which Nadella said that Apple is welcome to do anything they want on Windows, which includes bringing iMessage.

Of course whether or not Apple does is a different story, but Microsoft doesn’t mind if they do. We’re not sure if Apple will ever do that given that it would kind of ruin the exclusive nature of iMessage, but it would be cool if Windows and Mac users could talk to each other through the platform.

That being said, we do know that many, many years ago, Apple did at some point in time consider bringing iMessage onto Android, but it was argued that doing so would make it one reason less to buy an iPhone over Android. Like we said, we doubt we’ll ever see the day iMessage arrives on Windows, but it’s an entertaining idea nonetheless.
