Google Confirms Pixel 6, Pixel 6 XL In Survey

We know that Google is working on new Pixel phones for later this year, but the company hasn’t really officially commented on it yet. However, according to XDA Developers, it seems that Google has sent out surveys to developers and in those surveys, it seems that the company has dropped the names “Pixel 6” and “Pixel 6 XL”.

Given that Google themselves are calling it that, it’s safe to assume that these will be the official names for the phones once they have been announced, but other than that, Google did not reveal additional information. However, what we do know from the previous leaks and rumors that the Pixel 6 series will be the first Pixel phones to be powered by a custom Google chipset.

Google has been rumored to have been working on their own custom chipset. This will be an alternative to those made by Qualcomm, which Google has typically used in the past, and could give their Pixel phones a slightly more competitive edge. It will also see Google join the likes of other companies like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei, all of whom also make their own chipsets for their own devices.

There is currently no indication of when the new Pixel phones will launch, but if the rumors are true, we might also be able to expect a Pixel 5a alongside the new Pixel 6 devices in the coming months.
