Phone displays these days are getting larger than ever. For the most part we haven’t encroached upon tablet territory yet, but with handsets like the iPhone 13 Pro Max having a 6.7-inch display, we are getting very close. However, for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung might actually be downsizing their handset.

According to a tweet by Ice Universe, it seems that with the Galaxy S22 (the base model), Samsung will apparently be reducing the display size down to about 6.06-inches, which overall will make it slightly smaller than handsets like the iPhone 13.

To give you some context, the Galaxy S21 that launched this year came with a 6.1-inch display, while the 2019 Galaxy S20 had a 6.2-inch display, so it actually feels like Samsung has actually been quietly reducing the display over the years. That being said, 6.1-inches to 6.06-inches isn’t exactly a huge jump, but shrinking the bezels could make it more obvious.

Now, there are some who do prefer large screens, but there are some who miss having a phone that they can use with just one hand, so clearly this is designed for those in the latter camp. Needless to say since this is not official information, you should take it with a grain of salt, but we have to wonder if the display shrinkage is just for this model or if it will be applied across the Galaxy S22 lineup.
