NVIDIA’s GeForce Now Has A RTX 3080 Subscription Option

One of the advantages of game streaming is that it kind of deals with the issue of hardware bottlenecks where gamers can pretty much enjoy a similar experience across the board regardless of their device. However, the downside is that if you wanted an even better experience, that’s too bad.

However, it seems that NVIDIA could be looking to change that. The company has announced a new GeForce Now subscription tier where you’ll be able to take advantage of the company’s RTX 3080 GPU.

According to NVIDIA, “The new memberships will stream from the world’s most powerful gaming supercomputer, the GeForce NOW SuperPOD, giving gamers their own high-performance cloud gaming rig. GeForce NOW RTX 3080 members will enjoy streaming at up to 1440p resolution and 120 frames per second on PCs and Macs, and 4K HDR at 60 FPS on SHIELD TV, with ultra-low latency that rivals many local gaming experiences.”

Basically, since the RTX 3080 is a much more capable GPU, gamers will be able to enjoy their games at a higher resolution. In fact, NVIDIA claims that the RTX 3080 tier will see a 70x increase in performance for the average laptop on Steam, 13x for an M1-based Mac, and 7x performance for “the most popular desktop configuration” on Steam.

The GeForce Now RTX 3080 tier is priced at $99.99 for a six month subscription, which is pretty much double that of the Priority tier.
