M1 Max Benchmarks Show That It’s Twice As Fast As The M1

To make the company’s MacBook Pro laptops feel truly “Pro”, Apple introduced two new chipsets at their Unleashed event. This came in the form of the M1 Pro and the M1 Max, the latter being the most powerful M-series chipset that Apple has released to date, but how much more powerful are we talking about?

According to a recent Geekbench listing, it seems that the M1 Max offers twice the multi-core performance compared to the original M1. The Geekbench results show that the M1 Max managed a whopping score of 11,542, which is said to be about double that of the M1. This is the most powerful chipset Apple has released so far and beats out pretty much all of the company’s Mac computers.

However, there are exceptions and that is the current Mac Pro and iMac models that are powered by Intel’s 16 and 24-core Xeon processors, but it is on par with the 2019 Mac Pro equipped with the 12-core Intel Xeon W-3235. This shouldn’t be surprising as the Mac Pro is supposed to be a high-end machine aimed more towards industry professionals.

It will be interesting to see how the M1 Pro performs compared to the M1 Max, but assuming these benchmarks are accurate, professionals on the go who need the computing power should be able to turn to the new MacBook Pros for work.
