Retailer Moves $15 Million Of iPhones In Just 2 Seconds During Singles Day Sales

When Singles Day first started in 2009, it was a China kind of thing where companies launched massive sales on the 11th of November. It has since grown where more countries and companies around the world are participating, and every year it’s amazing to see how much money was spent during the sales itself.

That being said, it seems like this year was another one of those years, and it seems to have benefited Apple greatly. This is because according to a report from CNBC, Chinese online retailer JD managed to sell a whopping 100 million yuan worth of iPhones, which is roughly $15 million, in freaking 2 seconds.

Yup, the company managed to move $15 million worth of iPhones in less time than it took for you to read this article! The report goes on to add that in terms of sales, both Alibaba and JD alone managed to rack up around $139 billion worth of sales during the shopping event, which apparently set a new record.

Like we said, Singles Day has grown over the years where it used to be a flash sales day, but for the past few years, we’ve seen it change where it has become a week plus long event starting from early November leading up to the 11th.
