Do you need a new phone? Would you like to pay almost nothing for it? If you do, then you might be interested to learn that Verizon is currently running a promotion in which the carrier will be giving away a free iPhone 12 mini seemingly without any catches or requiring customers to trade-in an existing handset.

However, in order to qualify for this deal, customers will be required to register a new Unlimited line with the carrier, which we guess is the “catch” if you want to think of it that way. The phone itself is valued at $600 and customers will need to pay upfront, however, Verizon will credit the cost of the phone back to customers over the course of 24-30 months in your bill, so essentially you’re paying upfront but you will eventually get your money back.

Presumably this is to prevent abuse of the plan where customers might sign up and then try to skip on their bills. Verizon’s Unlimited plans start at $70 a month, which is kind of pricey, but it will provide users with access to the carrier’s 5G network along with a host of subscriptions such as Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Discovery+, Apple Arcade, and Apple Music, which is actually a pretty decent deal if you are already subscribed to some of them.

The only problem is that it is currently backordered so you might have to wait before you can get your hands on it. If you’d like to learn more, then head on over to Verizon’s website for the details.
