The problem with voice messages is that speaking on the spot could result in messages filled with “umms” and “uhhhs”, which could make messages unnecessarily longer. For WhatsApp users, you might be pleased to learn that the company has announced an update to the feature in the latest version of the app.

According to the post on WhatsApp’s Twitter account, users will now be able to preview their voice messages before it is sent. Normally you would have to press and hold the record button, and sometimes you might accidentally send a message that you think could have been phrased or said better.

Instead of unsending it, the new feature will let you preview what you just recorded and decide if you want to send it, or if you want a do over. It’s actually a pretty useful feature, especially for those who rely heavily on voice messages on WhatsApp, so if that’s you, then this could be a feature that you should be able to look forward to in the latest update to the app.

WhatsApp is definitely not the only app that allows for the sending of voice messages, but with the addition of this feature, it makes it a more compelling reason to use it, unless of course you’re uncomfortable with the fact that it’s owned by Meta.
