According to an earlier rumor, it has been suggested that Nothing could be working on their own smartphone. For those unfamiliar, Nothing is the company that OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had founded after he left the company. To date, Nothing has only released a pair of true wireless earbuds, but given Pei’s experience with smartphones, a Nothing phone doesn’t seem entirely out of the question.

Now thanks to an image shared by leakster Evan Blass on Twitter, it shows Pei at MWC 2022 showing off what appears to be the Nothing phone. This seems to be in line with the previous report where it was suggested that Pei had attended the event and had shown off the phone to various industry executives, including Qualcomm’s CEO.

It’s a bit hard to tell what the phone could look like based on this somewhat blurry image, but at the very least it does corroborate the rumors. Also, to play devil’s advocate, it is possible that for all we know, the phone in Pei’s hand could be an existing device and that he could be talking about something else entirely.

Either way, the rumors are claiming that more details about the phone are expected to be announced next month, so if they are true, we should be able to find out more about the upcoming phone soon.
