We met with Bang & Olufsen at IFA 2022 in Berlin to talk about their new high-end Beosound Theatre sounbar, which the company touts as “redefining cinematic sound in the home,” according to Kristian Teär, their CEO.

This product has many qualities, including excellent sound quality, exquisite design, and a modular design allowing users to “update instead of replace,” B&O says.

From a distance, the Beosound Theatre has an iconic design, but its size is relatively standard for a soundbar, and it comes in 55, 66, and 77” lengths. Inside, 12 speakers and two woofers can generate 112dB of sound pressure.

The array of speakers allows B&O to deliver powerful and clear sound in any range. There’s even a tweeter dedicated to voice speech clarity which is critical for watching movies.

This soundbar is solidly built, with high-end aluminum and durable materials designed to last “decades.” It weighs 18kg, so it won’t fill cheap and flimsy at all.

It can be mounted on a wall or stand on a table. There’s a mounting plate to hold TVs flush with the soundbar and it’s particularly optimized for LG TV, apparently.

The Beosound Teather has extensible metal winglets to align with your LG TV’s width perfectly.

According to the official page, the model with the natural oak retails for $7990, while the one with a black fabric finish costs $6890. Yes, that’s quite expensive, but some people will pay that price for an audio, visual, and design experience.
