LG has just introduced its latest gaming monitor, called UltraGear model 49GR85DC. The product features a curved 49″ display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and an impressive 240Hz refresh rate. This cutting-edge monitor delivers incredibly smooth gameplay and exceptional picture quality, elevating the immersive gaming experience to new heights.

While primarily designed for gamers, the 49GR85DC also offers versatile functionality for productivity and content viewing, thanks to its advanced multitasking capabilities and extra-wide screen, boasting a 49″ Dual QHD (5,120 x 1,440) resolution panel with a 1000R curvature, ensuring vivid and captivating visuals that encompass the user’s entire field of view.

With its expansive screen width and 240Hz refresh rate, the monitor creates a more responsive and expansive gaming environment, bringing games to life with enhanced realism and dynamism. It is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, providing a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, resulting in vibrant colors and deep, nuanced blacks.

The three-sided virtually borderless design keeps users focused on the action, whether battling opponents or exploring virtual worlds, and in addition to its gaming capabilities, the 49GR85DC offers a range of multitasking features that make full use of its elongated 32:9 aspect ratio screen.

The new UltraGear monitor supports Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) modes. PIP mode enables users to display content from a second connected device in a floating window, while PBP mode allows for seamless multitasking with multiple open windows, conveniently dividing the screen into two separate sections.

It also provides connectivity options via DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, allowing for smooth gaming at 240Hz in Dual QHD resolution, making it suitable for both PC and console gaming enthusiasts. The curved UltraGear monitor further enhances the gaming experience with LED Hexagon backlighting and support for DTS Headphone:X, an advanced audio solution that delivers immersive three-dimensional sound through wired headphones.

Seo Young-Jae, Senior Vice President and Head of the IT Business Unit at LG Electronics Business Solutions Company stated, “As the gaming monitor market continues to evolve and expand, there is a growing demand for expansive displays that offer high refresh rates and exceptional picture quality.” He added, “Designed for gaming yet equally adept at multitasking, the new LG UltraGear is a versatile premium display solution that demonstrates our commitment and ability to meet the diverse needs of today’s consumers.”

The new UltraGear gaming monitor is now available in the United States for $1 299,99 and will be launched in key markets across Europe this month, with a subsequent release in Asia later this year.
